The Austin Region office received an allocation of $129,119,000 in funding for economic development organizations, universities, non-profits, and local governments for economic infrastructure programs and projects related to Hurricane Harvey recovery and resilience. |

| | | | | | | | Current Situation | The Economic Development Administration has provided preliminary approval for four competitive grants in our region. This includes the following:

$760,237 to the University of Houston and Texas Tech University to study innovative financing for small businesses impacted by hurricanes

$320,000 to Harris County Flood Control District to complete a feasibility study for an underground drainage network.

$2,560,000 to the St. George’s Place Redevelopment Authority for a storm water detention facility

$1,100,000 to TruFund Financial Services to provide technical assistance to small businesses
The projects are consistent with the goals and strategies identified in the 2014-2018 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, and the Regional Plan for Economic Resilience. |
