On October 10, 2017, H-GAC’s Board of Directors approved the purchase of a three (3) year subscription for 900 Microsoft Office 365 E1 user licenses from State or Federal contracts for the Workforce Solution staff for amount not to exceed $63,000 per year. 

The current license tier lacks the necessary features to safeguard sensitive information such as Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or financial information. H-GAC obtained competitive bids for upgrading the current license subscription for Workforce Solutions from Microsoft Office 365 E1 to Microsoft Office 365 E3. The upgraded software license will allow for better protection of sensitive information as we further utilize the cloud as an infrastructure. The upgrade will also provide Workforce Solutions staff access to the most up-to-date version of Office desktop application.

Staff recommends upgrading subscription through CDWG under the Texas Department of Information Resources contract for a prorated first year of $32,000 and $130,000 per year for the second and third year, contract end date November 2020.
