REGIONAL HOMELAND SECURITY COORDINATING COUNCIL BYLAWS UPDATE

Background

The Houston-Galveston Area Council Regional Homeland Security Coordinating Council (RHSCC) is an Advisory Committee appointed by the H-GAC Board of Directors to oversee regional homeland security and emergency preparedness initiatives.


Current Situation 

The RHSCC voted to adopt changes to their bylaws.  The proposed changes to the bylaws are summarized as follows:

 

  • Responsibilities now include development of homeland security plans, trainings, and exercises (Article II.1)
  • Officer terms are now 2 years (Article VI.1)
  • General improvements to grammar and syntax 

 

These bylaws amendments require Board approval to become effective.
