GULF COAST REGIONALLY COORDINATED TRANSPORTATION PLAN

Background

The Gulf Coast Regionally Coordinated Transportation Plan is a five-year transportation and human services coordinated plan that was last approved in August 2017. The primary beneficiaries of the planning process are seniors (65+), persons with disabilities, low income, job seekers, students and veterans. The Texas Department of Transportation Public Transportation Division has coordinated grant funding from the Federal Transit Administration to continue the planning process in Texas. H-GAC has served as the lead agency for the development of and updates to the plan since 2006.

In fiscal year 2018 H-GAC was awarded $25,000 to continue the planning process by documenting unmet transportation related needs, developing strategies to mitigate those needs and reporting statewide metrics.
