INTERLOCAL CONTRACT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT DISASTER RECOVERY PROGRAM HURRICANE HARVEY – ROUND 1

Background

The Texas General Land Office (GLO) instructed the H-GAC to develop a Method of Distribution (MOD) which allocates housing buyout/acquisition and infrastructure funds for the H-GAC region with the exception of Houston and Harris County. No housing recovery funds are associated with the MOD. The amounts available for allocation include $111,953,432 for local buyouts and $129,751,767 for infrastructure. On July 17, 2018 the H-GAC Board approved the MOD which was submitted to the GLO for review.

Current Situation

H-GAC will receive reimbursement of up to $100,000 in costs associated with the development of Method of Distribution for the HUD Disaster Recovery Program administered by the Texas General Land Office for our region. For reimbursement of these deliverable costs; H-GAC ensures compliance with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. Additional funds have been budgeted for any future MOD work by H-GAC that may be requested by the GLO.
