LIVABLE CENTERS PLANNING STUDIES - FUNDING AGREEMENT

Background

H-GAC’s Livable Centers program was established to support local governments in creating quality places that provide alternatives to vehicle travel and provide opportunities for economic development. Study areas are selected based on a competitive process where proposals are evaluated for their implementation potential. The Livable Centers program has funded twenty-nine studies in H-GAC’s eight-county Transportation Management Area since its inception in 2008.

Current Situation

H-GAC has received a Local Project Advance Funding Agreement from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to provide $1,531,181 in Federal Surface Transportation Program-Metropolitan Mobility (STP-MM) funds for Livable Centers Planning Studies. The funding agreement also requires a match of $494,046 that will be provided by local project sponsors.
