Each year the Data Services Department renews a maintenance agreement covering Geographic Information System (GIS) software with the Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. The contract coverage includes technical support services and continual upgrades to the software system provided by Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. (ESRI). ArcGIS software is used for mapping, data analysis and various web mapping services to H-GAC GIS users and the public. ESRI is the sole-source provider of software maintenance for ESRI products.

H-GAC relies on ESRI software products for maintaining and processing GIS mapping data for 9-1-1, Transportation and Environmental programs. 2018 total license maintenance and support renewal cost will be $62,900. This maintenance renewal will provide licensing availability for 58 GIS users at H-GAC.
