Since 2004, H-GAC’s Data Services department has been providing email services to Workforce Solutions employees using a Microsoft Exchange Server. At present H-GAC hosts Microsoft Exchange 2010 server providing email services to all employees within the Workforce Solutions system. Although the current mail system is functional, the current solution is an end-of-life cycle and lacks the modern features utilized by current technology to support the program’s growing needs.

H-GAC obtained quotes for upgrading the Workforce Solutions Microsoft Exchange 2010 to a cloud based Microsoft Office 365 business platform for 900 user licenses from five separate vendors. The new software license is subscription based and can be scaled to meet the program’s future demands. Total subscription cost for 900 user licenses is $63,000 per year. Purchase to be made through CDW Government, LLC under the Texas Department of Information Resources contract.
