The Commute Solutions program provides a “one-stop” resource for commuters looking to reduce the cost and stress of driving to work. As more persons use mass transit, telework, and create car and van pools, the entire region benefits from reduced traffic congestion and ozone-forming vehicle emissions.

In August 2016, H-GAC's Commute Solutions Program launched a media campaign called “Road Warriors for Smarter Commutes". Many partner organizations in the eight-county Houston-Galveston Transportation Management Area are involved in the campaign and will celebrate Commute Solutions Month in August 2017. These partner organizations include:

• Texas Department of Transportation,

• Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County,

• City of Galveston Island Transit,

• The Gulf Coast Center – Connect Transit,

• Harris County Transit,

• Fort Bend County Transit,

• The Woodlands Township,

• Energy Corridor District, and

• Transportation Management Organizations.

H-GAC along with it's partners will host several events throughout the region during the month of August to highlight Commute Solutions.
