CITY OF MONT BELVIEU LIVABLE CENTERS STUDY | | | |
| | | | | | | | Background | Establishing “Livable Centers” is one of the implementation strategies of H-GAC’s 2040 Regional Transportation Plan. The aim of this strategy is to create more walkable, mixed-use places that are easier to serve via transit. A total of 26 have been completed in our region. The next two are expected to be conducted in the City of Fulshear and the International District. |

| | | | | | | | Current Situation | The next Livable Centers study ready to begin is for the City of Mont Belvieu. The study will examine feasibility and opportunities for creating public/private partnerships to implement Livable Centers concepts, as well as identify specific transportation investments for the area. A committee of representatives from H-GAC and City of Mont Belvieu evaluated five proposals submitted by firms on June 26, 2017. Based on the committee’s scoring and evaluation of the proposals and interviews, the recommendation and ranking are shown below:
