H-GAC administers a disaster recovery housing recovery program as part of the Region’s recovery. The H-GAC program repairs or replaces single family owner-occupied, single family rental and multifamily rental housing units for qualifying low to moderate income families.  The program is funded via Housing and Urban Development Commmunty Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Funding passed through to H-GAC from the Texas General Land Office.

H-GAC has completed the single family owner occupied and single family rental portions of our program.  The multifamily activities of our program are all underway and all activity is anticipated to be completed by mid-2018.  As we conduct our remaining activities, the budget categories for the program need to be adjusted,  The overall budget amount will remain the same. As the program enters its final year, H-GAC proposes to reallocate remaining H-GAC non-rental housing funds into the rental housing category to complete approx. 413 dwelling units in Brazoria and Montgomery counties. This reallocation of funds does not affect any other Round 2 allocations or non-HGAC Housing Programs.
