REGIONAL APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

Background

The Texas Workforce Commission has provided $200,000 to promote the development of new registered apprenticeship training programs and to expand existing programs in new occupations and underrepresented populations. 


Current Situation 

Staff will work with industry associations, local employers, economic development organizations and others to develop apprenticeship programs in construction, transportation and logistics, health care, and IT sectors. Funds will be used for outreach activities, technical assistance to employers, and staff costs.

 

We will work with at least 50 employers, expand at least two existing programs, establish at least two new apprenticeship programs, and identify and place at least 140 new registered apprentices.
