PEARLAND FM 518 CORRIDOR STUDY

Background

The Houston-Galveston Area Council has established a partnership with the City of Pearland to conduct a multi-faceted Transportation Study. This study will consist of two parts. The first will study the impact of a proposed one-way pair and its impact on the adjacent roadway network (McLean Road to Barry Rose Road) and neighborhood. The second part will analyze FM 518 from Barry Rose to Edgewood Drive (Friendswood). The study will determine existing and future transportation needs by integrating land use and growth scenarios and is intended to guide development, and long-range transportation investments in the City and encourage responsible development choices by increasing safety, mitigating congestion, and improving air quality, while maintaining the aesthetics of the area and improving the quality of life in the region.
