CLOVERLEAF LIVABLE CENTERS STUDY

Background

Establishing Livable Centers is one of the implementation strategies of H-GAC’s 2045 Regional Transportation Plan. The aim of this strategy is to create more walkable, mixed-use places that reduce reliance on single-occupant vehicle travel. A total of thirty-five Livable Centers studies have been completed to date.


Current Situation 

The next Livable Centers study is ready to begin for the Cloverleaf area in Harris County Precinct 2.  The overall goal of the study is to develop recommendations and strategies that will lead to a healthy, sustainable, multi-modal environment that addresses the needs of residents, property owners, business owners, and visitors for shopping, dining, recreation, entertainment, learning, wellness, and more. A committee of representatives from H-GAC, TxDOT, and Harris County Precinct 2 evaluated three proposals submitted by firms on Thursday, December 16, 2021.  Based on the committee’s scoring and evaluation of the proposals and interviews, the recommended ranking is shown below:

 

1.      CONSOR Engineers, LLC

2.      Goodman Corporation

3.      Freese and Nichols, Inc.
